Business Analyst

Job Summary

Under the guidance of the product owner, the Business Analyst (BA) will create the business requirements or user stories necessary for product changes that meet market needs, expected delivery dates, and high quality standards. In this role, you will have the opportunity to be an integral part of the ongoing expansion of the Solera platform. The BA will work with the product and development teams to ensure market needs and impacts are fully understood.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

  • Document business processes and user flows.
  • Take instruction from product owners to create clear deliverables.
  • Support or lead issues resolution.
  • Work independently and in cross-functional teams to contribute to the development and delivery of solutions.
  • Participate in the Scrum process as support to, or a member, of the Scrum team.
  • Conduct market research through client interviews, published research, applicability of best practices, and other techniques.
  • Convey product features through articulate requirements to multiple stakeholders.
  • Support and provide guidance to technical teams.
  • Draft user stories and acceptance criteria, as needed.
  • Develop test cases and perform system testing activities, as needed.
  • Assist with training, communication and documentation efforts.
  • Perform software product demos.

Expected Skills and Competencies

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal by expressing concepts and information clearly and succinctly using proper business English and pictures/diagrams.
  • Communicates information in a tactful and positive manner at all times.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail, facilitation, and multi-tasking.
  • Connects with both technical and non-technical people at all levels of the organization.
  • Works independently, and with a team, in an open office environment.
  • Good skills and knowledge of facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
  • Experience with information technology, systems integration, software development, analytics, and large data applications.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Experience with requirements tracking and workflow software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools.

Education and Qualifications                                                        

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience with requirements gathering and analysis and then making recommendations based on these assessments.
  • 2+ years of experience with writing Scrum-style requirements, including user stories, epics, use cases, process flows, and test cases.
  • 2+ years in technology driven healthcare, wellness, or benefits, preferable.
